Gajapati,28/03/19:Mohona police of Gajapati police district in Odisha  today  claimed to have busted an inter-district  racket of vehicle-lifters by arresting its four members and confiscating thirteen stolen motorcycles.

As per the statement of Mohona Police that,On 27th this month night while a extensive vehicular checking was undergoing by Mohona police staff  at Badapur village junction at about 07.50 PM police detained one Hero (HF Deluxe) Bike bearing registration  no OD-20-5631 being driven by one Babula Nayak of village Badapur. On verification and on demand he failed to produce the genuine documents of the bike on being quizzed he agreed that the said bike is a stolen one and he purchased from one Pinku Nayak of village Kamalapur colony of Mohona.

He also told that Pinku Nayak is a motor cycle lifter and after committing theft of motor cycles from Bhubaneswar and Ganjam area. He is disposing the same in Mohona areas at very cheaper cost .

Those arrested were identified as Summet Nayak,Babula Nayak,Tuku Nayak and the king-pin Pinku Nayak police said,

SP, Gajapati Sara Sharma told to scribes the accused persons were notorious for stealing motorcycles and other vehicles in and around the state.

Efforts on to recover more motorcycles, stolen motorcycles are from Bhubaneswar, Ganjam and Angul.Now  police  trying to verify the ownership and return it to the rightful owners. The number plates have been changed for use in ganja transport due to which difficulty to identify the ownership.The racket operates in several districts, especially neighbouring state of Odisha,she said.
