Two of them have nabbed by police when other two are absconded. Sector-7 police is on action to trace the accused. The accused must have had the knowledge, that the husband of the victim was not present hence, this ghastly act took place. Locals are annoyed with the happening and pressurizing police to arrest other two who are still at large. The victim is undergoing treatment in RGH. Medical test of both victim and the accused have done in the hospital. These incidents have awakened the other families in the basti and people have started questioning the inability of the Govt. in the state because in recent months we have got much news where rape victims have increased multifold where victims are of different age brackets including children. On Wednesday evening one lady from Sambalpur who was mistakenly left by his husband was gang raped by six persons near Dhenkanal which was shocked everyone. The lady managed to reach her relative after a long struggle. These incidents are happening almost in a regular basis where the victims are mostly minors. A six year girl was raped and strangulated in the school campus in Cuttack recently and in another issue a four year girl was raped by a minor boy in Tikhiri village in Kendrapara. There are also other news, one minor girl was raped for days by an youth in Udayapur village under Patna police limits of Keonjhar and after pressure from the family members the accused was arrested, similarly an widow was raped by an youth in Mangarajpur village under Ranpur of Nayagarh two days back. These issues have raised eyebrows of the people of Odisha, people are now asking what Govt. of Odisha is doing. Administration in the state has collapsed and every parent or the family members are now under a fear psychosis what to do, should they allow the girl child to go out of the house or not. Who will take care of them, when the department of police is in disastrous situation for providing required protection? Recently opposition has questioned the Govt. in assembly for their miserable governance to protect the women and girl child from rape. Why action is not being taken on due course of time. Few top politicians even go on commenting, Odisha under BJD has become worse than state like UP where rape cases are in huge numbers. People are now angry and asking questions to Naveen Patnaik for a good governance, he assured the people of the state from time to time. Nothing is happening on ground only voices and assurances on air, the ground reality is horrible.
