New Delhi,25/12/18:: On 30th of December ‘2018 PM Shri. Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Port Blair to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose lead Indian National Army’s takeover of the Andaman Nicobar Islands on 30th of Dec 1943. Netaji’s INA along with the Japanese had defeated the British in a war to take over the islands on that date. Back then Netaji had renamed Andaman Nicobar islands as Swaraj Azad islands. The Narendra Modi government has acceded to rename Andaman & Nicobar ‘s Ross island as Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose island, it’s Neil island shall be known as Shahid Dweep and it’s Havelock island shall be known as Swaraj Dweep. The same was announced by noted socio-political leader, Chairman of SNSMT who is also a lead member of the Netaji Movement Shri. Suparno Satpathy on his twitter handle. It is said the name changes shall take place after the PM’s said visit and his announcement of the said on 30 Dec `2018

On the said day the PM shall be hoisting the Indian national flag from the newly installed 150 meter tall post and shall also be commemorating the day with unveiling a coin as well as a postage stamp.
