Doctors’ Day Celebration

DOCTORS’ DAY CELEBRATION BY DIABETES & ENDOCARE CLINIC IN ASSOCIATION WITH ROLAND INSTITUTE OF PHARMACEUTICAL SCIENCES, BRAHMAPUR

 Berhampur dated 1st July 2017: National Doctors’ day is celebrated across India on 1st July to provide honor to the most famous and legendary physician as well as 2nd Chief Minister of the West Bengal, Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy. To commemorate this, a public meeting was organised today by Diabetes & Endocare Clinic in association with Roland Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences Brahmapur at college campus, Ambapua under the supervision of endocrinologist Dr Sunil Kumar Kota. Total of 6 eminent doctors from silk city were felicitated.

Sri Prem Chandra Chaudhary, IAS, Collector, Ganjam graced the event as the chief guest with Dr Priyansu Pradhan, Hon’ble MLA, Chhatrapur; Sri Subash Maharana, Chairman, BDA; Prof Dr P C Sahoo and Smt J Jayalakshmi, Chairperson, Roland group of Institutes joining the event as the guests of honour. The following 6 senior doctors of Berhampur were felicitated by reading out the citations, presentation of shawl and floral bouquet to acknowledge their sincere, dedicated and selfless patient care. The doctors include Prof Dr Sudhakar Pattanaik,ENT specialist, Prof Dr N C Padhi, surgeon, Prof Dr Nakshatramala Panigrahi, Gynecologist Prof Dr Kangalai Charana Behera, Pathologist, Prof Dr Kishore Chandra Mohanty, Ophthalmologist and Dr E Padmanabha Rao, senior physician. All the senior doctors and the revered guests unanimously appealed to the doctor community to provide selfless and dedicated service to the society. Additionally the public was thereby urged to respect the doctors in return as well. Free Insulin was distributed to 20 poor diabetic patients for 1 year (worth Rs 1 lakh INR) in association with “Jammula Neelekantam & Rajaratnam Memorial Charitable Trust”. The trust members including Sri J Mohan Rao, Sri J Siva Prasad Rao, Dr J Surya Rao and E Siva Prasad Rao were present to hand over the insulin. 

Principal, Sri B N Patnaik, Dr Srikant Mohapatro, principal, Roland Junior College, Dr M E Bhanoji Rao, principal, Roland Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Dr B V V Ravi Kumar,; Members of different clubs including Rotary, Lions. Senior citizens, Laughing, JCI, Y’s Men, NTR Seva Samiti, Walker and Friends helping club; and other doctors graced the session. Total of around 200 people from different walks of life attended the ceremony as a mark of honour to the doctors. The guests and the doctors congratulated Dr Sunil Kumar Kota for successful conduct of such an event and blessed him with long life. Lastly Dr Jyoti Prasad Pattanaik concluded the session by extending vote of thanks to all the people concerned for their valuable contribution and presence.
