Berhampur,24/11/18:City based Endocrinologist and Diabetes Superspecialist from Diabetes &Endocare Clinic, Dr Sunil Kumar Kota was felicitated with prestigious “Young InvestigatorAward” at 46th annual conference of RSSDI (Research Society for the Study of Diabetes in India) being held at Ahmedabad from 22nd-25th November 2018. This award is in recognition of his contribution to the field of diabetology in form of 47 peer reviewed research publications and authorship in 10 chapters on various aspects of Diabetes.Dr Sunil Kota is the first doctor from Odisha to receive the award. 

RSSDI is a conglomeration of doctors involved in care of diabetic patients. It comprises of Endocrinologists, physicians & diabetologists with more than 7300 doctors across India as life members to its credit and it is affiliated to IDF (International Diabetes Federation). Currently this is the largest diabetes research body in Asia. Dr Sunil Kota presented his research work infront of a sprawling audience of 5000 participants across India and some of SAARC countries.About 350 doctors from Odisha attended the conference. He was later on felicitated by Dr P V Rao, RSSDI president; Dr Brij Mohan Makkar, RSSDI secretary; Dr Banshi Saboo, Organizing Chairman and Dr Rajeev Chawla, Chairperson Scientific councilwith certificate of appreciation and a gold medal. Ex President of IDF, Dr Shaukat Shadikot, lauded Dr Sunil’s work from divergent fields of diabetes in Indian patientsand extended his personal invitation to attend IDF annual conference ie World Diabetes Conference to be held at Busan, South Korea in December 2019  to present hisIndian research work in front of an international audience.
