Koraput;24/09/19:Internal Inspection Committee on Rajbhasha of the University Grant Commission visited the Central University of Odisha on 23.09.2019 to inspect the use of Hindi language in the official works as per the direction of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India. The committee was headed by Sh. Kishore Kumar, Education Officer of the UGC along with other two officials of the UGC namely Sh. Dayal Krushna Sharma and Smt. Manju Sanharwal. Prof. S. K. Palita, Vice-Chancellor I/c. and Prof. Asit Kumar Das, Registrar along with other officials of the University welcomed them in the University campus.
During the visits a meeting was held at the conference hall of the University in the presence of all three members of the Committee, Prof. S. K. Palita, Vice-Chancellor I/c., Prof. Asit Kumar Das, Registrar, Sh. K. Kosala Rao, Finance Officer I/c.; Sh. K. V. Uma M. Rao, Joint Registrar, Dr. Phagunath Bhoi, PRO and all the Officials of the University.
Prof. Palita highlighted the works done by the University where Hindi language has been used as mandatory and assured that the University will appoint a Nodal Officer/Hindi Officer by nominating from the existing staff for better promotion of Hindi language as soon as possible.
Shri Kishor Kumar advised the University to use Hindi language along with English language in official noting, office orders, notifications, office records and official publications. They also advised to organise educational competitions in Hindi and Hindi Pakhwada for promotion of the Rajbhasha. He demonstrated some of the easy methods for writing in Hindi by using different software available in websites.
Prof. Das emphasized on use of Hindi language in all the official works of the University. He said the Hindi software to be installed in all the computers of the University. He assured that visible works in Hindi language will be carried out by the University within a month.
The Committee visited all the departments/sections of the University and took a stock on use of Hindi language. They interacted with the staff, faculty members and students and advised to promote our Rastriya Bhasha, Hindi in the University in teaching and in official works also. They appreciated the role of the Department of Hindi of CUO promoting Hindi language while interacting with the students and faculty of the department.
