Koraput,19/07/19:Central University of Orissa organized welcome programme for the students here on today the first day of the commencement of classes after the completion of admission process for the academic year 2019-20. Prof. Sharat Kumar Palita, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor I/c. address the programme as the Chief Guest. Shri K. V. Uma Maheswar Rao, Joint Registrar Administration; Dr. Ramendra Parhi, Associate Dean Student Welfare, Dr. Jayanta Kumar Nayak, Controller of Examination I/c. and Dr. Kapila Khemundu, Chief Warden of the Hostels along with all Head of the Departments and Wardens of the hostels were present at the programme. Dr. Kakoli Banerjee, Asst. Professor of the Biodiversity host the programme.
Prof. Palita welcomed the students and congratulated them for getting selected through a rigorous process of selection of the University. He advised them to use their precious time for building their career and future. He said “The Central University of Orissa is the only University which has the best students of the Odisha and the catchment area. Students are the primary part of the University, so our primary focus will always be pointed out to the overall development of the students”. He highlighted different achievements the University made during last year like 150-200 position in NIRF ranking, annual sports meet, successful admission process. He also placed the future developmental proposal like construction of academic blocks, administration block, hostels and staff quarters, formation of management committee for the hostels, students exchange programme etc.
Dr. Parhi elaborated details about the standard of education from primary education to University education. He gave importance to quality education in theory and practical. Dr. Nayak advised the students to have always positive attitude to reach their goal in his address. Dr. Khemundu, Chief Warden of the hostels advised the students to utilize the facilities provided by the University properly and judiciously.
Dr. Banerjee gave brief introduction of the University and its achievements during her inaugural address. She said “this University is a divine place for all of us”. She compeer the entire programmes and gave vote of thanks. Students, HoD, (I/c) and staff of the University were present at a large.
