Sambalpur,06/04/19:Sambalpur Vigilance P.S. Case No.11 dt.05.04.2019 u/s 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act,1988, as amended by the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act,2018 has been registered against Sri Dhruba Charan Behera, Dy. Forest Range Officer, Nrusinghanath Forest Range Office, Dist.Bargarh for demand of bribe of Rs.50,000/- from the Complainant Sri Rajkumar Chalan, S/o Late Lokanath Chalan, Vill-Goimundi, PS-Khariar, Dist.Nuapada (Retired Forster, Jamset Section under Nrusinghanath Forest Range, Dist.Bargarh) for giving No Due Certificate required for sanction of pension of the Complt.
A trap was laid on 06.04.2019. Accused Dhruba Charan Behera, Dy. Forest Range Officer, Nrusinghanath Forest Range Office, Dist.Bargarh was caught by the vigilance officials today i.e. on 06.04.2019 at 11.30 A.M. inside the entrance room of his residential Govt. quarter situated in the campus of the Nrusinghanath Forest Range Office while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs.50,000/- from the Complainant. The accused received the demanded bribe money of Rs.50,000/- from the Complainant by his right hand and while counting the same by both his hands sitting on a chair, he was caught by Vigilance raiding party. The hand wash of both hands of accused in sodium carbonate solution turned to pink in colour confirming acceptance of bribe money by him. The bribe money of Rs.50,000/- have been recovered from his exclusive possession. Accused Dhruba Charan Behera, Dy. Forest Range Officer, Nrusinghanath Forest Range Office, Dist.Bargarh has been arrested and forwarded to the court of Hon'ble Special Judge, Vigilance, Sambalpur.

Berhampur,05/04/19: Mohona police team recovered huge haul of weapons in Bhaliagada Jungle in Gajapati district ,Odisha on Friday morning
The Gajapati SP,Ms.Sara Sharma told to scribes that on dated 4/5.2019 while SK Nayak,IIC,Mohona Police station with his team discharging their duties in the area domination at Malaspadar Gram Panchayat they received information from their own input that the LWEs have dumped some arm and ammunition inside the Bhaliagada Jungle. Following the information the IIC and his team proceed towards the suspected place as shown by the spy.
It was claimed to be the biggest haul of arms and ammunition from the area after long gap and mainly during the General Election time. She added.
While interacted with the IIC,Mohona,Sujit Kumar Nayak,he reported during the search in the jungle at around 5 AM my team able to identify the dumping spot and while digging most surprisingly we recovered one INSAS rifle and huge amount of ammunitions from dumping place(!).
Apart of this another team lead by Sub Inspector,Pinky Murmu ,Hemanta Sethy and CISF while performing the domination duty in Hichagandhi Village which is nearby the Jungle area they apprehended two persons Rabi Mallik and Hariraj Mallik of Village Betingi with two nos of un-licence illegal SBML Gun with gun powder and lead bullets.
In this connection Mohona Police registered a case under section 25/27 arms act r/w sec 9(B)/(b) explosive act 1884.
Berhampur,05/04/19:The Gosaninuagaon police of Berhampur Police district claim to have busted a gang of robbers, who were planning a conspiracy to loot a petrol pump at Haladiapadar with the arrest of six. The police arrested the accused from a Hotel outside of platform No-IV of Berhampur railway station on Thursday evening following a tip-off.
The accused have been identified as S.Tophan (30),T.Cherma(20),S Sukura (50),T Tphanan(25),T Jalandhara(19),T Bhima (60).
The police have also recovered one illegal country made pistol,1 live ammunition, two live bombs two swords, two Iron rod. with some cash from their possession.
Today in a press meet Prabhat Routray ,ASP ,BP Pati,SDPO(City) and Summet Soren,IIC,G.Nuagaon claimed that the accused were habitual criminals and recently all of them were released from Jail.
Many cases are still pending in their names at different police stations under Berhampur Police district.said, Routray, ASP.

The accuse Behera using two different SIM in fake names according to Ms Santoshini Oram, IIC, of Berhampur Town PS.
Police registered a case u/s/292/509 IPC ,.W.Sec 67 (a) of IT act of Information technology act 2008/Sec 6 of indecent representation of women (Prohibition) act -1986 has been and investigation is going on. The accused is going to be forward to the court today as told by Bishnu Pati,SDPO.
Berhampur,03/04/19: Sadar Police arrested seven members of a robbers’ gang on the prowl in the area while they were hatching a plan for dacoity in a particular Petrol pump village on Tuesday night. Two bombs, one sword, one country made gun,4 nos live ammunition, mobile sets and cash were recovered from the arrested gang.
The arrested criminals have been identified Ganguli Das,Ishwar Reddy,Pramod Moharana,Tukuna Das,Sajan Gauda,Simanchal Roul, and Nisha Naik.
Speaking to media persons about the arrests, Berhampur Sadar SDPO,Jayant Kumar Mohapatra said, on 2/3.3.19 night at 1.45 am IIC,Sadar got a tip-off on the presence a gang of robbers while preparing to commit facility the police team, led by Sadar Police IIC, immediately raided their hideout located at Gurunthi rest shed and nabbed all members of the gang while they were planning.
The arrested criminals have confessed to being involved in a number of crimes in the district during interrogation.

Berhampur,31/03/19:BN Pur police team foiled a major dacoity attempt on 30,31/03/19 at around 02.20 AM at Bagdevi temple, Chandan Nagar in Berhampur city with the arrest of four criminals here on Sunday. One country made pistol, 2-live ammunition, one Hero Honda Bike and a sword were seized from them.
Acting on a tip-off, a police team carried out raids along Lanjipalli under BN Police limit, where the dacoits were allegedly plotting to make the dacoity of L&T Godown at Lanjipalli.
The four persons were arrested from the spot, identified as Shiba Ghanta,Shankar Parida,Dora Behera and Santosh Sethy while one hard core of the gang Susanta Das of Khodasingi managed to flee from spot after hurling bombs at the cops.
Today in a press meet Mr Prabhat Routray,ASP,Mr Bishnu Pati,SDPO,City and IIC,Mr Sarada Dash described to media fraternity that, those arrested are being properly interrogated. Efforts are underway to nab the master mind Susanta Das associated with the dacoity gang.
Kalahandi,29/03/19: Kalopala GramPanchayat under Junagarh Block of Kalahandi District is under vigilance scanner. It is alleged that the ex- Sarapanch Bidyadhar Sahu and ex- Panchayat Executive Officer Mandhardhar Bishi both have manipulated Govt funds from different head of account of the Gram Panchayat.
In a case of the Rajiv Gandhi Seva Kendra construction both of the above said accused persons have manipulated 3,15 lakhs during the year 2011-12.
Basis on the vigilance case 42/2014 the matter was enquired and after trial before the Honourable court.The court sentenced to both the accused convicted ex- Sarpanch Bidyadhar Sahu and ex- PEO Mandhardhar Bishi for 5 years imprisonment and 30,000/-penlaty.

Gajapati,28/03/19:Mohona police of Gajapati police district in Odisha today claimed to have busted an inter-district racket of vehicle-lifters by arresting its four members and confiscating thirteen stolen motorcycles.
As per the statement of Mohona Police that,On 27th this month night while a extensive vehicular checking was undergoing by Mohona police staff at Badapur village junction at about 07.50 PM police detained one Hero (HF Deluxe) Bike bearing registration no OD-20-5631 being driven by one Babula Nayak of village Badapur. On verification and on demand he failed to produce the genuine documents of the bike on being quizzed he agreed that the said bike is a stolen one and he purchased from one Pinku Nayak of village Kamalapur colony of Mohona.
He also told that Pinku Nayak is a motor cycle lifter and after committing theft of motor cycles from Bhubaneswar and Ganjam area. He is disposing the same in Mohona areas at very cheaper cost .
Those arrested were identified as Summet Nayak,Babula Nayak,Tuku Nayak and the king-pin Pinku Nayak police said,
SP, Gajapati Sara Sharma told to scribes the accused persons were notorious for stealing motorcycles and other vehicles in and around the state.
Efforts on to recover more motorcycles, stolen motorcycles are from Bhubaneswar, Ganjam and Angul.Now police trying to verify the ownership and return it to the rightful owners. The number plates have been changed for use in ganja transport due to which difficulty to identify the ownership.The racket operates in several districts, especially neighbouring state of Odisha,she said.
