Sambalpur,21/08/19:Sambalpur Vigilance P.S.Case No.25 dt.19.08.2019 has been registered against Sri Daman Prasad Mishra, Head Clerk, O/O the Block Education Officer, Gudvela, Dist-Bolangir for demanding bribe of Rs.5,000/- from one Hadu Bhoi, of Vill-Salepali, retired Assistant Teacher for drawl of his arrear as per sanctioned A.C.P.(Assured Career Progression for 25 years) and to send the revised pension papers to A.G.Odisha, Bhubaneswar for sanction.
A trap was laid on 20.08.2019. at about 12.20 P.M. accused Sri Daman Prasad Mishra, Head Clerk, O/O the Block Education Officer, Gudvela, Dist-Bolangir was caught red handed by the Vigilance team while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs.5,000/-from the Complainant in his office room at Block Education Office, Gudvela, Dist-Bolangir. The tainted bribe money of Rs.5,000/- was recovered from his office Almirah and seized in presence of the witnesses.The accused Sri Daman Prasad Mishra, Head Clerk, O/O the Block Education Officer, Gudvela, has been arrested and is being forwarded to the Court of Spl. Judge, Vigilance, Bolangir.
Jeypore,18/08/19: Vigilance sleuth today arrested the Malkangiri Civil Supplies Officer (CSO) Abhimanyu Mahanty after unaccounted cash worth Rs 1.91 lakh was found from his vehicle on Saturday.
The official was detained on Saturday after the cash was found from his Innova car while he was on his way to his native place Berhampur.
Vigilance officers of Koraput Division have intercepted his vehicle at Boipariguda between Malkangiri and Jeypore Road. Vigilance officials said that Mahanty failed to give any satisfactory explanation about possession of the cash.
“A case has been registered and the CSO has been arrested and forwarded to the court on Sunday. He has been remanded to the judicial custody till August 27. Further investigation in the case is continuing,’ said an official of Vigilance.

The Cigarettes and other tobacco products under prohibition of advantage and distribution of trade and commerce, Supply and distribution act, 2003 Sec-59 police made surprise raid at Village Borigaon on dated 03/08/19 and arrested three accused person those identified as Narayan Kumar Sahu,Sarat Kumar Sahu of Kalupatra Street,Berhampur and Kishan Sahuunder Bada Bazar police limit.
From spot Sadar police have seized Two Handmade Guthka manufacturing machine, two gunny bags packed with branded Guthka, Guthka raw-materials,Gokul Deluxe Mix Guthka,17 plastic bags, each containing 10 polythene packets, each polythene packets containing-70 pouches one Tata ACE bearing No-OR-07R-6884.
In a second raid police found 15 nos Deluxe mix wrapper packets,90 nos of pockets,KK Deluxe Mix Guthka,HD pan Masala wrapper cost of approximate 16 lac.
In third instance police raid at Village Bhutapalli on same day and seized plastic bags,polythene packets, Guthka raw materials around 40 Kgs and huge quantity of Gold Pan masala with one manufacturing machine. The seizure cost comes around 3 lakhs as police said.
Another raid took place at Village Bhairabi NagarPolice have seized one weing machine, manufacturing unit,Haridakhandi pan masala and other used materials. Total seizure cost around 5 Lakhs.
On dated 08/08/19 at village Baunsiapalli police made a big raid and could able to arrest Rabindra Kumar Sahu,Debendra Kumar sahu.one Hand made Guthka manufacturing machine Gunny Bags, huge amount of Deluxe Mix Guthka,polythene ,pouches of different brands Guthka which cost comes about 3 Lakhs.
While intracted with the Sadar IIC,Mr Pradhan he said we are expecting some more units are still on act and we are in search.

Rayagada, August 11: After heavily addicted, a man named Sri N Raghunath of Andhra Bank line has attacked his wife Smt A Lila and daughter Kumari A Gayatri with a sharp dagger severely on several parts of the body including chest. While both were profusely bleeding, the neighbours have admitted them in the district headquarters hospital at Rayagada.
It is learnt that for Raghunath quarrel with both wife and daughter was a regular affair after he went home drunk. Till the report was written, neither the wife nor the daughter filed FIR at the local police station.

BERHAMPUR: Continuing their efforts to curb anti-social activities and illegal trade of Guthka, (Mafia) Berhampur Police busted three illegal gutkha manufacturing units and arrested six persons in connection with the incident following raids at different locations on last couple of days.
Acting on a tip-off, a joint team of Bada Bazar,BN Pur and BN Pur Police Stations conducted multiple raids at Saguna Sahi, Borigaon and Bhutapalli area in the city led by Mr BP Pati,SDPO City.
97 bags of gutkha, machines and other raw articles used for making guthka worth over Rs 9.7 4lakh were seized during the raid.
“They are preparing guthka and other products under different brands which is completely illegal as they don’t have any trade license. Four cases have been registered against the accused and further investigation is on,” said IIC of Bada Bazar Police Station, Prasant Bhupati and Sarada Prasanna Dash,IIC,BN Pur Police station.

Following the instruction of SP,Mr Mishra up to the necks of the illegal guthka producers in the 'Silk City', Berhampur Police continuously on the process for busting gutka manufacturing units mainly under Bada Bazar Police limit,Sadar and BN Pur Police limits.
During the raid cops found that the manufacturing unit operators were producing tobacco without the required license and packing those in duplicate foils of branded companies to send to the market. Later six persons were taken into custody from the spot.

Vide the case o 122/19.One Narayan Sahu and 3 others of Sarguna Sahi arrested with seizure of 40 bags of Gutkha, 1 machine, Raw beetle, an seed, huge quantity of polythene, packing and other materials.
Case no 123/19,The Godown of Sarat Ku Sahu of Kalupatra sahi raided and police found Gutkha 30 bags, other materials,60 cartools of mustard oil which suspected to be adulterated , 40 liters of PDS Kerosine.
Case no 126/19,Godown and house of Ram Ch.Dash of Panigrahi Pentha,105 bags of Gutkha, 1 manufacturing machine, huge quantity of raw materials and polythene reels.
Locals compliments to the City police and to SP,Berhampur of their continuous effort to “WIPEOUT GUTKHA”.
In spite of several attempts we failed to get any information from Sadar Police Station although they too did some remarkable job.
The accused persons were arrested under the NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) Act.
Kendrapara,10/09/19: More than a week after the bill criminalising triple talaq was passed in the Parliament, a man in Kendrapara district divorced his wife by pronouncing talaq thrice over the phone.
The matter came to light after the victim, Taksima Khatun lodged a complaint with Pattamundai police accusing her husband Sk Rija Ahmad of giving her triple talaq over the phone.
Taksima woman who was married to Sk Rija of Kalapahada village under Aul police limits November 28, 2017 said her husband called her over the phone on October 23 and uttered triple talaq thrice.
The victim further alleged that although Rs 1 lakh cash, 80 gram of gold ornaments and household articles were given as dowry during the marriage, Rija demanded Rs 1 lakh more.
The accused started torturing Taksima after her parents expressed their inability to pay up. Subsequently, Rija who works as a carpenter in Chandigarh of Punjab divorced his wife on October 23 over the phone from Punjab.
“I tried to contact him several times after he uttered the three words but he did not respond. As there was no response from him even after repeated calls, I was compelled to file an FIR against him. My husband is well aware of the judgment of the Supreme Court which banned triple talaq. He should be punished as per law,” said Taksima.
Acting on the complaint of the 24-year-old woman, the police registered a case and launched a probe.
“We have registered a case acting on the FIR and police are investigating the case,” said IIC of Pattamundai police station, Pramod Mallick.
Balasore,09/08/19:In a shameful incident in Balasore district, a college girl was thrashed, stripped and photographed by miscreants at Talasari Beach in Bhograi block in broad daylight.
According to sources, the contemptible act took place while the victim along with a boy classmate was roaming on the beach on a motorcycle. Suddenly, the students were intercepted by three bike-borne youths, who were in an inebriated state.
The situation worsened after the miscreants not only thrashed the duo but also physically assaulted the girl after stipping her off her clothes.
They also took pictures of the incident. Another video of the same incident emerged later. It is also alleged that the miscreants asked for heavy cash from the duo in order to let the girl go.
When the matter came to light, the villagers called up for an emergency meeting. Later, Mahamaya Self Help Group of the area lodged a complaint with Marine Police regarding the incident.
Following the complaint, cops are currently probing the video footage that was made viral over social media platforms to identify the accused persons involved in the act.
The irate villagers have also demanded immediate arrest of the wrongdoers as it is the fourth such incident that came to the fore in the last two months. Besides, villagers have also demanded restrictions on driving vehicles near the beach and adequate security for tourists at the spot, sources said.
Such incidents not only question the safety of women in today’s world but also the efficiency of police and administration in curbing such anti-social activities.
Berhampur,06/08/19:In a major crackdown on criminals in the State, two wanted law breakers were arrested today following separate police encounters in two places Aska of Ganjam district and Kujang of Jagatsinghpur. Three policemen were also injured in the encounters.
In Aska, an encounter took place near Charimile square on Aska-Balipadar Road at around 5 AM when dreaded criminal Guruprasad Swain was injured while one of his associates Kalu Biswal managed to escape. Later, Swain was admitted to the MKCG Hospital.
Acting on a tip-off about the movement of Guruprasad and Kalu, police had deployed a team to nab them. When the criminals riding a motorcycle were going towards Balipadar, police intercepted them. Subsequently, the duo fired and hurled a bomb at the police. In retaliatory firing by police, Guruprasad was injured. A total of 13 cases including murder and dacoity are pending against him.
