BJD MLA DEBASISH SAMANTARAY IN SOUP – VIDEO VIRAL IN PAK TV

Written by

Report;Bureau,Odishabarta

Bhubaneswar,22/02/19: The Cuttack-Barabati MLA, Debashish Samantaray, is now under the target of opposition with Congress leader Panchanan Kanungo demanding his arrest, expulsion from the party and an apology from Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik over the issue.

Trouble seems to be on the way for BJD MLA Debasish Samantaray, who has been in the eye of a storm, after the video of his alleged misbehaviour with the kin of martyred CRPF Jawan Manoj Behera went viral.

Besides, the women’s wing of Congress has lodged a complaint against Samantaray at Badambadi police station and another complaint filed by Subash Mohapatra of Khurda at the Khandagiri police station on Friday. The opposition seems to have started a campaign against the legislator.

Samantaray had yesterday apologised for the same and requested not to politicise the matter. “I had only made the relative of martyred CRPF Jawan sit after he pushed Union Minister Jual Oram during the guard of honour. I had no intention of hurting anyone’s feelings,” the BJD MLA had clarified.

On the other hand, the concerned relative of the deceased trooper today broke his silence in this matter and said that the legislator did not misbehave with him.

Chaitanya Behera, the uncle of martyr CRPF jawan Manoj Behera, said “Before lighting the funeral pyre, we were told to wait till paying of floral tributes. As I went near the body, Debashish Babu only asked me to sit down. There is no need to criticise him. He is a good and respected person. It is wrong to politicise the incident.”

However, the trouble for the BJD MLA did not end up here as the same video surfaced in Pakistan media. Azad News, a Pakistan-based TV channel telecasted the visuals in which Samantaray is seen shoving the relative of Pulwama attack martyr.

While BJP leader Lekhashree Samantsinghar condemned the BJD MLA, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan demanded that the Chief Minister should take action against Samantaray.
