Chatrapur (Ganjam),05/11/19:Today Collector,Ganjam cancelled leave of all government employees. Vijay Amruta Kulange,Collector hold an emergency meeting at Chatrapur keeping on view of Cyclone BULBUL he asked officials to remain alert in view of the cyclone forecast given by the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The possible cyclone in Bay of Bengal, the Ganjam district administration As per reports provided by the Gopalpur Doppler Radar office, and the information from CRC,Odisha the low pressure formed near North Andaman has taken the form of depression in Tuesday evening and lays centred at about 890 km off Paradip coast. Further the depression will intensify into a cyclone in next 24 hours.

The met has named the possible cyclone as 'BULBUL'. Under the influence of this climatic condition, heavy rain is expected in Ganjam district from Friday to Sunday.

A wind speed of 40-60 km per hour has been forecast. Also, the weathermen cautioned fishermen from venturing into the sea. Gopalpur port authorities have hoisted Signal number 1 keeping in view the cyclone.

On the other hand, prices of vegetables have gone up in Ganjam district. While onion is being sold at Rs 55-50 per kg, potato is available in the market at Rs 22 per kg.Tomato is being sold at Rs 60 per kg and beans at Rs 70 per kg, whereas brinjal and cauliflower is available at Rs 40 and Rs 70 per kg respectively. He instructed the enforcement wing of Civil supplies to act accordingly and to see the people should not face any panic situation.
