TALCHER,The ancient festival and GanaParva of Talcher “GANESH PUJA “ started from 2nd September 2019 with a spiritual atmosphere and modern outlook to attract visitors from various places in and outside of Odisha. Though it has been raining from the very beginning of this festive occasion, still thousands of visitors are coming daily to witness this rare festival of the state. The extend from Talcher Town to HandidhuanChowk has been decorated with dazzling and colourful lights. There are more than 70 puja pandals located in the city of black diamond in two groups “A” and “B”. There is also competition among the Puja Committees to bag awards for the best decorated pandals and Deity this year. The celebrations will come to an end on September 14 on the occasion of Indu Purnima.
To maintain peace and discipline during this festive occasion security arrangements have been stepped in the city, led by Angul S.P. Jagmohan Mina. Police have made necessary arrangements to ensure the smooth conduct of the event. Police is led by Talcher SDPO, Six inspectors including 5 platoon forces, provisions for foot and mobile patrolling have been arranged. Special arrangements have been made for traffic management. A special vehicle is moving in the different places of the city to take out the gangs of drunken youths roamed on the streets said Talcher SDPO Hemant Kumar Panda.
To attract the visitors cultural programmes are being staged in the evening through Central Puja Committee at By pass and HandidhuanChowk daily. Announcements through mikes by the central puja committee also been arranged to take necessary precautions by the visitors from snatures and other miscreants.” ANGYAN MAALA AND LADU” will be auctioned on the immersion day in the presence of Talcher MLABrajakishorePradhan and President of Central Puja Committee Talcher Sub Collector Paresh Chandra Nayak and other committee members.
