TRUE OR PART POLITICS (?)
Bhubaneswar:While traffic violators are reeling under the heavy fines imposed after implementation of the Motor Vehicle (Amendment) Act in the Odisha from September 1, the Bhubaneswar Central MLA Ananta Narayan Jena was fined Rs 500 for violating traffic rule in the State Capital.
According to reports, the legislator’s car was reportedly parked at a no-parking zone near AG Square here. The ex-BMC Mayor had gone to AG Square to attend a traffic sensitization drive being conducted by the Commissionerate Police.
The police issued a challan of Rs 500 against Jena in the presence of Bhubaneswar DCP Anup Sahoo.
When Media asked, the legislator said: “My driver had parked the vehicle illegally on the road and hence was penalised. Law is equal for everyone and all should abide by the traffic norms”. Other hand one Senior Citizen pointed out this might be a political game of Jena after the public resentment at Rajmahal square(?).
