ODISHA: CYCLONE ‘TITLI’ TURNS SEVERE CYCLONIC STORM, LIKELY TO BECOME ‘VERY SEVERE’ Featured

Gopalpur,10/10/18:The Cyclonic Storm ‘TITLI’ over west-central Bay of Bengal intensified into a severe cyclonic storm today. It is very likely to intensify further into a Very Severe Cyclonic Storm during next three hours. 

The system is likely to move north-north-westwards and cross Odisha & adjoining north Andhra Pradesh coasts between Gopalpur & Kalingapatnam around morning of 11th October. 

Thereafter, it is very likely to re-curve north-eastwards, move towards Genetic West Bengal across Odisha and weaken gradually. 

Storm surge of height of about 1.0 meter above astronomical tide is very likely inundate low lying areas of Ganjam, Khurda & Puri districts of Odisha at the time of landfall. 

October 10th Heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places with isolated extremely heavy rainfall very likely to occur over districts of Ganjam,Gajapati, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Khurda, Nayagarh, Cuttack, Jajpur, Bhadrak and Balasore. 

On 11th heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places with isolated extremely heavy rainfall very likely to occur over districts of Ganjam,Gajapati, Puri, Kandhamal, Boudh, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Khurda, Nayagarh, Cuttack, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Bhadrak and Balasore.
