ROURKELA:Rourkela is a happening city and many things depend on Rourkela Steel Plant. Let it be development of Township, Locality in the periphery area, services including hospitality and periphery developmental projects. It has been a discussion over four years making a Super Specialty hospital, become relevant when assurance came from none other than the Prime Minister, Narendera Modi. Anyway despite all these issues RSP’s growth is also important because economical development of the plant is all crucial. Union Steel Minister, Chaudhary Birendar Singh programme was scheduled mainly for inaugurating and dedicating the rebuilt Blast Furnace-1 ‘Parvati’ is the first Blast Furnace of SAIL that was dedicated to the nation in the year 1959 by the then President of India, Dr. Rajendra Prasad. This furnace was put down in the year 2013 for repairing and rebuilding to strengthen this with superior technology to give higher productivity, increasing it from 0.438Million tones to 10.015Million Tonnes. This inauguration was done in presence of Juel Oram, Hon’ble Union Minister of Tribal Affairs and many senior officers of RSP including Aruna Sharma, Secretary, Ministry of Steel, Binoy Kumar Officer on Special Duty, Ministry of Steel, Puneet Kansal, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Steel and Ashwinin Kumar, CEO, RSP. Earlier, Chaudhary Birendar Singh has also laid foundation stone of the Burns and Plastic Surgery Department of Super Specialty Block at Ispat General Hospital (IGH). This will be catering to the need of many needy people in and around Rourkela even the states nearing to Odisha i.e. W, Bengal, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand. As per the expectation of the locals to declare something on IGH to become Super Specialty Hospital is still pushed under dark. No such concrete information was given on this which was most sought now for BJP workers in the city and the genuine need of the people live in Rourkela. Now this has become a political and prestige issue for the Standing MLA, Rourkela, Dilip Ray who has been raising voice over these years and putting in many efforts. For Juel Oram too, it is a matter of concern before General election which is going to be held in 2019. Chaudhary Birendar Singh had visited many other programmes scheduled earlier among those, his visit to New-Plate Mill of RSP and planting saplings in the Pragati Udyan had encouraged employees of RSP to go green which they have been doing successfully over these years. In his arrival at Rourkela Airport, he was given a warm welcome with a Guard of Honour by the CISF wing. Then he rushed to Rourkela House there also he received a Guard Of Honour by Odisha Police.
